• We do not collect contacts, call logs, SMS, photos, or media from your device.
• We do not use third-party analytics, tracking, or advertising SDKs.
• We do not collect location data.

1.2 Information Collected Automatically

• Device name: Used solely for device discovery on your local network via mDNS (Bonjour).
• Local IP address: Used to establish a direct connection between your devices. This information never leaves your local network.

1.3 Information You Provide Voluntarily

If you choose to subscribe to our mailing list on our website, we collect your email address solely for sending product updates. You can unsubscribe at any time.

2. How Your Data Is Used

• File transfers: All files are transferred directly between your devices over your local Wi-Fi network. Files are never uploaded to any server or cloud service.
• Device discovery: Your device name and local IP address are broadcast on the local network only so other ZipSend instances can find and connect to your device.
• Email (optional): If provided via our website, used only for product updates and announcements.

3. Data Storage & Transmission

• ZipSend does not use any cloud servers, databases, or remote storage for file transfers.
• All data travels exclusively within your local area network (LAN).
• No data is transmitted to us or any third party during the file transfer process.
• Connections are only accepted from private IP ranges (RFC 1918) for additional security.

4. Third-Party Services

ZipSend does not integrate any third-party analytics, advertising networks, or tracking services. We do not share any data with third parties.

5. Permissions

ZipSend may request the following permissions on Android:

All permissions are used strictly for the core functionality of the app. No permissions are used to collect personal data.

6. Children's Privacy

ZipSend does not knowingly collect personal information from children under the age of 13. The app does not require account creation, does not collect personal data, and does not contain ads or in-app purchases targeted at children.

7. Security

• All transfers occur over your local network — no data passes through the internet.
• Incoming connections are validated against private IP ranges (RFC 1918).
• File paths are sanitized to prevent directory traversal attacks.
• Every incoming file transfer requires manual acceptance from the receiver.

8. Data Retention

Since ZipSend does not collect or store personal data on any server, there is no data to retain or delete. Transferred files are saved only on the receiving device's local storage, under the user's full control.

9. Your Rights

Since we do not collect personal data through the app, there is typically no data for us to provide, modify, or delete. If you have subscribed to our mailing list, you may:

• Request deletion of your email from our mailing list.
• Unsubscribe at any time via the link provided in our emails.
